They confirmed this musical shift by changing the name of the band to Fortuan - a phonetic transcription of the +421 dialing code for Slovakia - which expresses their love for their home country and, at the same time, they are not afraid to admit their international ambitions.
The band's music builds on the classic rock sound of the second half of the 20th century and enriches it with modern influences. This combination creates an indie rock sound filled with the best that the present has to offer. As a result, listeners of all ages can find something that appeals to them in Fortuan's music.
Their broad range has already brought them numerous live performances at Slovak music festivals, and even a few victories in band competitions. Their biggest success so far is second place in the Pop category of the Rockova Maturita 2019 music competition.
In 2021, the band began collaborating with the Los Angeles-based producer Mario Borgatta (known for his work with Foster The People and Leona Lewis), who took Fortuan's sound to a new level. Thanks to their single "Catch Me If You Can," the band made it onto the playlists of both major and minor Slovakian radio stations, launching a new era of success.
In the following year of 2022, the band continued their successful collaboration with Mario Borgatta, releasing two more singles, "Crumbling World" and "Home," and performing at both small and large festivals (Topfest, Vata leto).
The beginning of 2023 was marked by a new modern sound that the band had been working on with producer Matt Bishop (known for his work with The Killers and U2). The bass guitar on their new single "River" was recorded by new band member Igor Holka, who brought a new dynamic to Fortuan's music.
The band's latest single, "River," has been available on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and all other streaming platforms since February 10, 2023.
